A Quick Bible Study Vol. 203: Introducing ‘God Quotes’ – A Unique Search Engine
Too much freedom going on.

Thanks for clicking here. This study was sparked by an email I received two weeks ago from an unfamiliar name — Eric Schwelling — who was introducing GodQuotes.com. Eric heard me on a podcast discussing my two Bible study books, which are compilations of this study. After we connected, I was impressed with GodQuotes.com, which is why Eric stars in today’s Bible study.

Correction: God and His Word are the “stars” of EVERY study. However, Eric received a revelation from God that led him to launch GodQuotes.com, so technically, Eric shines in a supporting role. But remember, everyone breathing is relegated to a “supporting role” because our mission is to love and glorify God — requiring obedience — which we recently discussed in Vol. 199.

Below is my interview with Eric Schwelling, CEO of Search GodQuotes, Inc., a non-profit organization. He discusses the “revelation” and why GodQuotes is unique.

Myra Adams: What is GodQuotes.com?

Eric Schwelling: My recently launched site offers visitors a unique search engine for the words of God, as expressed in the Bible. As the first and only search engine of its kind, GodQuotes.com is more than simply a Bible-topic word search. Why? It leverages proprietary technology developed through years of research to enable narrowed searches precisely for God’s quotes in the Bible.

MA: Why did you build GodQuotes.com?

ES: I built the site to serve as a vessel to disseminate the words of God. Never in history have God’s quotes been at everyone’s fingertips!

MA: But there are many Bible verse search sites. How is GodQuotes different?

ES: The site functions like a classic concordance volume but is powered by advanced technology. For example, a search for “honor” using the American King James Bible reveals 44 verses containing the word—but only quotes attributed to God Himself, not anyone else speaking in the Bible. The site enables users to view verses in context from the available Bibles, including the American King James Bible, traditional King James Bible, JPS Bible, Messianic Edition, and World English Bible. Ultimately, GodQuotes.com is a blessed tool to commune and grow your knowledge and relationship with God.

MA: Do you plan on expanding and offering popular translations such as the New International Version (NIV) or English Standard Version (ESV)? What about Catholic translations?

ES: Yes, our research utilized about 20 different Bibles, including the NIV, ESV, and the Douay Rheims Catholic Bible. I have an appreciation for all of them. With GodQuotes.com, we’ve started with various Bibles in the public domain and hope to expand to the Bibles you mentioned and other translations.

MA: What was the revelation that led to GodQuotes.com?

ES: One day, I thought about Father God and contemplated how to get closer to Him. Then, He revealed to me, ‘GOD HAS SPOKEN, AND MAN HAS RECORDED IT!’ In my head, I keep repeating that phrase. I prayed about it, thought about it, and it consumed me. Then, I began to peel back the layers and gained an understanding on a deeper level. I asked myself, ‘God has spoken in the Bible, and man has recorded it, but isn’t ALL of the Bible God’s word?’

I realized the answer was “yes.” However, I also knew that not every word in the Bible is God’s quote,  even though the entire Bible is His MESSAGE.

MA: Tell us about your inspiring first and second “breakthroughs.”

ES: First, it was an intense clarity: Satan speaks in the Bible, but his words are NOT Father God’s words. Moreover, there are false prophets in the Bible, and God makes it clear that their words are NOT His words. In fact, there are liars, cheaters, murderers, and rapists in the Bible. THEIR WORDS ARE NOT GOD’S WORDS – THEIR QUOTES ARE NOT HIS QUOTES! Instead, their words are part of His message. So I asked myself: ‘WHICH WORDS ARE GOD’S WORDS; WHICH QUOTES ARE GOD’S QUOTES?’

ES: Second, I hunted for a site that only addressed God’s quotes. For days, I searched the computer, went to bookstores, and came up empty-handed. I suddenly realized that God was sending me on a mission to answer my question, and I went to work creating GodQuotes.com.

MA: What do you think God was or is trying to teach you?

ES: Before I read the Bible, I was sure I knew Father God and was confident I had a good relationship with Him.  And I did. But now I realize that my knowledge of Him and my relationship with Him were severely limited. In terms of God speaking in the Bible, I had no idea:

1. Who HE SAYS He is

2. What HE SAYS when He speaks

3. Who HE SAYS we are

4. What HE SAYS He wants from us

It’s easy to see how not knowing what HE SAYS when HE SPEAKS in The Bible can severely limit one’s understanding, knowledge, and relationship with God. And, in this limited state, we cannot fully LIVE as HE SAYS, for… “man does not LIVE by bread only, but man LIVES by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of Yahweh” (DEU 8:3 WEB).

MA: What is your goal with GodQuotes.com?

ES: My goal at GodQuotes is for Jews, Christians, and everyone else to use this non-denominational website. I am blessed to be a Messianic Jew who believes that Jesus/Yeshua (his Hebrew name) is the Messiah and, therefore, integral to GodQuotes. However, I would never want to discourage any site visitor who perhaps differs from Eric Schwelling’s beliefs. I pray that I will never be a stumbling block for anyone coming to God because this is not about me. GodQuotes will always be about glorifying God and shining a light upon Him.

MA: What message would you like to impart to Townhall readers?

ES: God meets us where we’re at, and it’s everyone’s responsibility to develop our relationship and deepen our knowledge of Him. Ultimately, God wants our knowledge of Him to come from Him – “for such a time as this.”

MA: Eric, thank you for your time. How can Townhall readers contact you? (Warning: They are national and international readers who are well-versed in His Word, so be ready!)

ES: Sounds good. Thank you, Myra. They can reach me directly through this link Contact GodQuotes
