On May 3, a transgender activist stole the cell phone of Chris Elston, popularly known as Billboard Chris, as he talked with students at Portland State University to express opposition to gender reassignments for children and transgender ideology. He was also subjected to physical harassment.
Elston, the father of two girls in Canada, is famous for wearing sandwich board signs that “take a stand against gender ideology” and spark conversations about sex changes for adolescents and children.
His most commonly-worn sign reads “Children cannot consent to puberty blockers” on one side and a definition of the word “dad” as “human male who protects his kids from gender ideology” on the other.
Elston was filming himself with former Portland State University Professor Peter Boghossian,internet personality James Klüg, and a local photographer known on Twitter as Garbage Ghost when a trans-woman confronted the group and interrupted Elston’s conversations with passersby.
The trans-woman is seen in video footage posted by Garbage Ghost trying to disrupt Elston’s conversations by getting into the personal space of Elston, Boghossian, and Klüg, and then claiming they were the ones who invaded the trans-woman’s space.
The video shows Elston and a male student discussing the use of puberty blockers and children. The student said that, although it is probably not common, “parents can be pushing [transitioning] on children at a certain level” and that parental “narcissism” may be involved “in very specific cases.”

The trans-woman self-describes as a “trans refugee from West Virginia” and declares that Elston, Boghossian, and Klüg are “patriarchal white supremacists.” The trans-woman further declares that “the tip of white supremacy is anti-transgender discourse.”
Soon, video footage shows the trans-woman grabbing Elston’s phone and attempting to ride away on the trans-woman’s bike. When Elston grabbed the trans-woman’s backpack, the trans-woman threw the phone down on the path.

As the surrounding crowd grew, a different passerby began to scream at Elston, Boghossian, and Klüg that they were the ones threatening kids.
“You don’t help kids with s—-. Kids die because of this s—-. Children kill themselves because they are not accepted by society because of f—ing idiots like you,” the passerby yelled at Billboard Chris.
Female students then showed up with pride flags and tambourines to denounce the presence of Elston, Boghossian, and Klüg.
Garbage Ghost also took video of her attempt to help a self-identified “autistic trans lesbian woman” within the vicinity who was high on methamphetamine. The lesbian trans woman was crying out for help in “a total mental breakdown.”
