This is not a new story. We have known for months that Joe Biden carries a crib sheet with him wherever he goes, but in the past he has been reasonable discreet, especially when he is calling on reporters at a news conference. Here, however, he brazenly ignores the members of the press corps who have come with questions, gazes down at his list of approved names, and calls out “Darlene of AP.” He repeats it, as though he were a receptionist in a doctor’s office calling out the name of a patient.
