CNN is widely acknowledged, even among some Democrats, to be the most laughable excuse for a news network on cable TV. Its absymal ratings ever since the 2020 election deprived it of its favorite punching bag last November are ample evidence of its lack of seriousness as a news medium.
But MSNBC, the other liberal news network, has been giving CNN a run for its money for some time now. The latest bit of evidence of how out of touch with reality the network is comes to us courtesy of Matt Negrin, the warm body chosen to host “Hardball,” now that Chris Matthews is gone.
Personally, I hadn’t been aware that anyone had taken that show over since Matthews left. But Negrin’s reaction to the news that Rep. Elise Stefanik had been chosen to replace Liz Cheney as the GOP House Conference leader is proof positive of his suitability for the post:
