Yesterday’s release of photos of the deplorable living conditions for migrants at the southern border may explain why Joe Biden called a lid at 1:13 p.m. But it’s not just pictures that underscore the inadequacies of the Biden border plan — it’s the words of his administration as well.
On Sunday, for example, Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas was grilled by Fox News Channel’s Chris Wallace on the administration’s refusal to allow the press to visit the facilities along the border. Mayorkas’s explanation was that “we’re in the midst of a pandemic.” Although Wallace responded by noting that “there is a safe condition under which a pool reporter and a pool camera crew could go into some of these facilities,” an even more compelling argument is rooted in the fact that the administration is releasing migrants into the U.S. without testing them for COVID. If the risk of contagion is too great to allow reporters to accompany border agents on ride-alongs, shouldn’t the administration be equally adamant about releasing potentially COVID-positive individuals into the country?
Another example occurred yesterday when Emerald Robinson of Newsmax asked White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki:
How do you square National Guard troops sleeping in parking garages and eating contaminated food with illegal immigrants being put up into hotel rooms?
The question referred back to a news story yesterday that the administration had awarded an $86 million contract for hotel rooms for migrants.
Psaki’s answer? When Biden became aware of the situation, he took remedial action.

But that there’s no need for remediation when a president does his job right in the first place.
Another related question Psaki might be asked relates to the country’s devastatingly large population. How, that is, does Biden square putting illegal aliens up in hotel rooms when displaced Americans are left to die in our streets of exposure?
