It’s hard to say which is more disturbing — that Joe Biden reportedly wears an earpiece so that staff can order his movements and actions or that he sometimes misconstrues instructions given to him as things he’s supposed to repeat out loud.
That seems to be what is happening in this video that is making the rounds. In it we see the new president entering a building the portal to which is flanked by Marines. As he approaches the men in uniform, he says to them “Salute the Marines.” Clearly he is repeating the bit of protocol his handlers were privately communicating to him.
Sources have revealed that Biden wears an earpiece to get prompts from staff, but I’ve always been skeptical. But here we see Biden getting an instruction over his earpiece and instead of following them he repeats them. “Salute Marines.” pic.twitter.com/MpvAYU7hEi

Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?
It is sobering to contemplate a U.S. president who needs to have his thoughts spoon-fed to him, but it wouldn’t be Biden’s first time. In September he was reading off a teleprompter during a TV interview when he inexplicably uttered the words “Venezuela top line messages.” The phrase was obviously a subhead his writers had loaded onto the teleprompter to introduce a particular talking point. It was not meant to be read aloud.
It happened again a couple of days later when he read aloud the quotation marks that the speechwriter had placed around a particular phrase as an indication the words were to be emphasized.
On Thursday, he became tongue-tied while bragging about his COVID plan. Watch:
Whether these glitches are a manifestation of his cognitive decline or the fact that he simply isn’t that bright. Regardless of the origin, these episodes are scary.
