Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot issued a stay-at-home order Thursday, telling city residents to cancel their Thanksgiving plans. The strict lockdown rules come as average daily cases of COVID-19 have more than tripled since last month.

Lightfoot’s “advisory,” which also limits social gatherings to 10 people or less, will remain in effect for 30 days or until a change in guidelines is developed. “While this is tough — this whole year has been tough — you must cancel the normal Thanksgiving plans,” she warned. “If we continue on the path we’re on and you, me, and others don’t step up and do more … we could see at least a thousand more Chicagoans die.”

Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?

Why It’s Hard to Take Lightfoot’s Thanksgiving Stay-at-Home Orders Seriously

As per usual, the Chicago mayor is but one of a handful of left-wing politicians who want you to make sacrifices to your Thanksgiving during this pandemic but can’t seem to follow their own guidelines. On Saturday, a maskless Lightfoot was seen celebrating Joe Biden’s media-declared election victory, shouting into a bullhorn as she was surrounded by other revelers. As you can see in the video, not everyone around her was wearing a mask either which, according to the mainstream media’s rules, is grounds to accuse the Chicago mayor of being an accessory to murder.

Sorry, journalists, your rules.

Lightfoot isn’t the only left-wing official imposing strict draconian measures on constituents. California’s Democratic Governor Gavin Newsom issued a handful of absurd Thanksgiving guidelines. They include restrictions on gatherings to just three households. He nowhere explains the science behind that number, if there is any. Other suggestions include holding all holiday get-togethers be held outdoors, limiting them to two hours, and avoiding singing and shouting.

Saturday Night Live alum Rob Schneider tore into Newsom on social media, calling him “Emporer Newsom” among other things.

Meanwhile, on the East Coast, intellectual eunuch Andrew Cuomo, New York state’s governor, was issuing similar edicts. “We know indoor gatherings and parties are a major source of COVID spread,” he announced. “To slow the spread, NYS will limit indoor gatherings at private residences to 10 people.”

Private residences? He’s telling you what you can and can’t do in your own home. Does that sound like a governor in America to you?

Cuomo also imposed a curfew on already struggling restaurants and bars, saying they will be forced to close by 10 p.m. each night. Because, you know, COVID is apparently a late-night party animal.

And if you don’t follow his orders and help slow the spread, Cuomo has threatened to “turn the valve more” by lowering the number of people allowed at indoor dining facilities.

This is the same buffoon who vowed to stop New Yorkers from getting a vaccine until Biden can distribute it, who can’t get his brother to follow his pandemic rules, and who frankly, doesn’t follow them himself.
