Man arrested in Seattle for torching police car … with officer still inside!

Defunding the police is merely a dumb idea. Without police patrolling the streets of America’s cities, chaos would reign.

But as happened during the Obama administration following riots over police shootings of unarmed men, some of the protesters of the death of George Floyd have decided that “disappearing” the police is not enough. Anything short of murder just won’t do. (RELATED: Suspect arrested in ambush shooting of two LASD deputies in Compton)

Murder was apparently on the mind of a Seattle man who was approached by an officer in a patrol car as the man “protested peacefully” by brandishing a burning piece of lumber. As the car approached, the man lobbed the flaming two-by-four into the car through an open window. Before all was said and done, the vehicle became engulfed in fame, though the officer managed to escape.

Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?

As the Seattle Police Department reports on its “blotter”:

Additional responding officers chased the man [suspect] into a parking garage where they deployed a taser and took him into custody.

One officer is believed to have discharged a firearm during the incident. The suspect was not struck.

Additionally, as officers were arresting the man, the flames from the burning lumber engulfed the entire patrol vehicle.

One officer was transported to Harborview Medical Center with non-life-threatening burns.

Officers are also checking surrounding buildings in the area to ensure no one else was injured in the incident.

The name of the suspect has not yet been released.
