CNN: There’s very little rioting, very little violence

CNN continues to live in an alternative reality where down is up and up is down. Evidence emerges that Jacob Blake violated a restraining order by entering his ex-girlfriend’s home last Sunday and has an outstanding warrant for sexual abuse. So what does CNN do? They publish a profile of Blake that paints him as a gentle, caring soul and devoted father.

It’s entirely possible, I suppose, that both are accurate, but CNN conveniently omits the details that run counter to its far-left narrative.

Ditto for its handling of the mayhem that continues to grip several of America’s Democrat-run cities. CNN would of course ask “What mayhem?” Here’s network contributor Kirsten Powers reciting the party line last Friday. (A transcript follows the video).

Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?

I do think rhetoric obviously matters, but I think ultimately the reason the protests are happening — and let’s be honest, and Don, you do make this point over and over, there’s very little rioting. Like, that’s actually — there’s very little violence, it’s — but it’s magnified by Donald Trump and it’s magnified by Republicans to convince people that people are coming for them. And that’s just simply not what’s happening. But the fault is I think with the government and I think with all of us that nobody has really dealt with the fact that you have police shooting unarmed black people repeatedly and often not being held accountable for it. That is a problem that the entire country is responsible for, Republicans, Democrats, everybody. [Emphasis added]

It’s frankly brazen, if naïve, of CNN to cling to this narrative even as the Democratic Party attempts control damage over its failure to mention the violence even once during their convention. Some in the liberal media complex have run stories with headlines like this: “Trump’s dire warnings are not about Biden’s America. They’re about his America.”
