The Democrats are full of tricks this election year. They’re certainly full of something.
Yesterday LU’s Ben Bowles noted how the DNC digitally altered a photo to increase the number of rapturous virtual attendees applauding Kamala Harris’s acceptance speech by duplicating component images. Here’s a reminder:
That wasn’t the only bit of deception that occurred during the convention. The DNC also allowed air time to one “Michael from Rhode Island,” who represented himself in a video as “a longstanding Republican” now voting for Joe Biden. Watch:
There is one problem. As the left-leaning Providence Journal reluctantly concedes, Michael, whose full name is Michael Paolucci, “confirmed he is currently registered as a Democrat — and has been on and off.” The paper further confirmed that he has voted as a Democrat in four of the last five primary elections in Rhode Island.
“I have never been contacted by anybody from the Republican Party or the Democratic Party prior to me making my video and sending it in. When you’ve had enough, you’ve had enough,” Paolucci told reporters. That may well be true, but the onus still falls on the DNC to confirm that the man was not misrepresenting himself. Then again, maybe the Democrats aren’t that fussy about vetting the credentials of someone who comes out and endorses one of their candidates.
