That’s big f*cking deal to you.

The Wall Street Journal’s Bill McGurn was a member of the “all-star panel” on Fox News Channel’s “Special Report with Bret Baier” this past week where he weighed in on the historic agreement between Israel and the United Arab Emirates brokered by the White House. In the video that follows, McGurn notes that the accord runs “counter to all of the predictions of doom and gloom in the Middle East after the president pulled out of a very bad Iran deal. I think it also shows the real dispute in the region is not Arab-Israeli, it’s Suuni-Shia. I think the Arabs can handle relations with Israel and this is a step in the right direction.”

McGurn prefaced his remarks by observing, “We know it’s a big deal because Joe Biden is trying to take credit for it.” He wasn’t joking. When word of the accord was announced, Biden first tossed out a backhanded compliment, praising Donald Trump’s “welcome, brave, and badly needed act of statesmanship,” then claimed he and Barack Obama cleared the path for the current president.

Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?

“The coming together of Israel and Arab states builds on the efforts of multiple administrations to foster a broader Arab-Israeli opening, including the efforts of the Obama-Biden administration to build on the Arab Peace Initiative,” he said.

Ah, yes — the “Obama-Biden administration.” This is the silly, previously unheard-of construction that Biden conjured up in the hopes of insinuating himself into the last administration’s “achievements” — such as the Iran deal — because his own record of accomplishments is so embarrassingly thin.

In fact the record of the Obama-Biden administration is largely built on sand. In March he tweeted:

The truth, as explained subsequently by former National Security Council official Tim Morrison, is that it was Obama himself who viewed the NSC as too large and too operationally focused and combined it with other offices, thereby diluting its effectiveness.
