As J.E. Dyer wrote in her post on the departure of New York Times opinion editor Bari Weiss, who announced earlier in the week that she had been bullied by her fellow colleagues for daring to think outside the liberal box, we live in a time where the media set their watches according to a predetermined narrative. When any journalist veers from that narrative — which includes as one of its guiding principles the observation that “Donald Trump is a unique danger to the country and the world” — that person becomes a pariah.
For journalists who make their living on the broadcast side, hiding their revulsion at guests or commenters who breach the predetermined narrative, can be something of a challenge. As case in point, watch the video below featuring MSNBC host Craig Melvin.
As Townhall explains, the network invited multiple pediatricians on Monday to react to the Trump administrations’s stance that schools should re-open in the fall. The Left of course knows better. As a result, the network apparently didn’t bother to vet their guests to make sure their viewpoint on the subject comported with the predetermined narrative.
Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?
So what happened? Take a look. Melvin doesn’t appear until the last two seconds of the video, but the look on his face is one for the books.
Top pediatricians tell NBC they support reopening schools:
“Yes.”
“Absolutely.”
“Without a hesitation.”
“I have no concerns…”
