Omar shreds Biden: ‘Not exciting,’ incapable of implementing radical change ‘nation needs’

In a recent interview with the Guardian, Rep. Ilhan Omar said that Joe Biden, currently the frontrunner for the Democrat nomination in 2020, albeit by an increasingly narrowing margin, is not the candidate progressives like her want.

Omar (D-Minn.) believes Biden is not capable of being a catalyst for “systemic” change – code for going back to liberal fantasies of hope and change – and he is not capable of “exciting generations” of radical leftists.

“There are few people who fit into the kind of progress that we all want to see in this country,” Omar said. “And I would say he is not one of them.”

Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?

She added Biden is not fit to bring about the radical change she and her fellow “Squad” members would like to see in America.

“I think it has been very clear to many of the people who have been creating the kind of movement that is exciting generations that we want somebody who really has a plan that is going to tackle a lot of the systematic challenges that we have, and he doesn’t.” (RELATED: Omar Trashes America: Treated Differently ‘As A Visibly Muslim Woman’)

Omar blasted Biden following her delivery of a keynote address at the Iowa People’s Presidential Forum. There, she said the upcoming election could be catastrophic for the Left if the proper radical isn’t chosen as the nominee to face President Trump.

Omar explained that the Left needs “a president who realizes we are not just fighting for one election, we are fighting for the very soul of our democracy and what society we want to become.”

The society she wants to deliver is one where “white people” have little power and where American values are decimated. (RELATED: AOC About Biden and Other Democrats of the Past: ‘I Don’t Want to Go Back, I Want to Go Forward’)

Omar’s statements hinting that Biden is too old and entrenched in the ways of old school politicians echo those of her fellow “Squad” member, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.). Ocasio-Cortez said back in April that a Biden campaign “does not particularly animate me right now” and that “I don’t want to go back. I want to go forward.”

She also suggested Biden’s age and “mental capacity” were game for analysis. “I don’t want to use those proxies, a number [his age] as a proxy for capacity,” she said. “I think you have to assess a person’s capacity kind of on a case-by-case basis.”

Ocasio-Cortez is perhaps the last person who ought to be talking about mental capacity.
