“Peaceful protesters”: That is how Rep. Deb Haaland (D-N.M.) characterized the Portland, Ore., branch of Antifa during an appearance on CNN in which she was asked to react to a tweet by Donald Trump noting that he is giving serious consideration to designating the liberal group as an organization of terror.
Haaland trotted out the full complement of phony leftist grievances, claiming:
This is on par with what the president does — he sides with the white supremacists, with the white nationalists, with the domestic terrorists in our country. … You know he’s incited violence against people of color. Portland is a progressive city. They want to ensure they keep their city moving forward. It’s not surprising that Trump would side away from the folks who are the peaceful protesters. … [Emphasis added]
Here is a video of her remarks:
So what did these protesters do over the weekend to show just how peaceful they are? By way of answering, I refer you to another video, this one embedded in a tweet and revealing that members of the renegade fringe outfit brought concrete slabs with them. These were then broken into shards that were hurled at buses carrying Trump supporters.
?CONCERNING ? We caught Antifa smuggling concrete slabs within a black case then breaking up the slab & using it to throw at buses carrying right wingers stuck in traffic. This is further evidence of their pre-meditated violence & criminal activity in Portland @realDonaldTrump pic.twitter.com/ENgYiQ10VG

Haaland apparently hasn’t seen the video or that of right-wing journalist Andy Ngo, who was so badly beaten by an Antifa mob that he was hospitalized. Ngo was also robbed, but his injuries were so severe that that disgusting tidbit of information has gotten lost in the shuffle.
There are numerous other stories that make Haaland’s comments seem like an unfunny joke, but this is the Democratic Party here in 2019: totally out of touch with reality, fighting a mythical battle in which the hoodlums and criminals they back are the “good guys.” (RELATED: ‘Ellen’ producer tells Antifa to cool it, called a ‘fascist’ by his coworkers)
