According to the New York Times, the Right has been hitting Speaker Nancy Pelosi below the belt of late by releasing manipulated videos of her on social media that make it seem as if she is slurring her words.

One of the videos, which showed Ms. Pelosi speaking at a conference this week, appeared to be slowed down to make her speech sound continually garbled.

The video has been viewed millions of times on Facebook and was amplified by the president’s personal lawyer, Rudolph W. Giuliani, who shared the video Thursday night on Twitter. “What is wrong with Nancy Pelosi?” Mr. Giuliani said in a tweet that has since been deleted. “Her speech pattern is bizarre.”

The videos surfaced online amid a particularly intense and public feud between Mr. Trump and Ms. Pelosi. Each questioned the other’s temperament and mental fitness in an exchange of personal insults on Thursday. …

The Times writers are being either disingenuous or derelict in its journalistic responsibilities, because un-doctored videos of the speaker mangling her words abound on social media — and some of them date back several years.

Take this video from April 2017 of Pelosi delivering a seven-minute speech to Refugees International. Kyle Olson of The American Mirror provides the “play-by-play”:

Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?

She congratulated honorees for their well-deserved “resc — recognition.”

Pelosi complimented Refugees International’s “strong moral varce — voice.”

She said America “degrades our values and our security when we slam the door in the face of children freeing — fleeing atrocities.”

She botched country names as she read them from her notes.

“With the specter of famine looming in, over northeast Nigeria, Somalia, south “Sudon,” and “Yuma — Yamen,” she said, flubbing “Yemen.”

Pelosi asserted cutting the foreign aid budget would “only deepen the crisis fighting — facing the children.”

“Children, America, children need America to be their champion,” she said moments later.
