Those who doubt that anti-Semitism is on the rise will be hard-pressed two explain two more incidents of vandalism visited on two more Jewish houses of worship in Brooklyn this weekend.

In one of the incidents, six black teenagers who may have just been out for kicks congregated briefly on the sidewalk outside a synagogue in the Williamsburg section of the borough before hurling a metal pipe at one of the windows, shattering it. The group then high-tailed it, as a video circulated by the New York Police Department reveals.

Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?

The incident took place on Saturday, which is the Jewish Sabbath, while congregants were inside the building praying. Luckily no one inside was hurt by either the projectile or breaking glass.

According to the New York Post:

Police are looking for four boys around the age of 16 after a witness reported the attack at about 5:45 p.m. Saturday.

The neighborhood, which is largely comprised of Jews of the Hasidic sect and blacks, has long been a hotbed of racial tension.

The Post notes that police on Saturday also released footage of a vandal who scrawled swastikas on a wall in the toney Brooklyn Heights section.

These latest attacks come just days after a “queer” black Democratic activist named James Polite scrawled graffiti reading “Die Jew Rats” and “Hitler” on the walls of Union Temple of Brooklyn. Polite also added a political element to his crime by drawing a picture of the Puerto Rican flag with the caption “Free P.R.”
