Majority in poll say Trump has divided the country. But guess who has divided it more?

A new POLITICO/Morning Consult poll shows a majority of Americans placing blame for the polarization of the country on President Trump’s shoulders. When asked “Generally, would you say President Trump has done more to unite or divide the country since he took office?” 56% of the 2,543 registered voters surveyed replied “More to divide.” Only 30% said that the president has done “More to unite.”

But before the Left starts turning cartwheels, they might want to digest the results of a related question: “Generally, would you say the national news media has [sic] done more to unite or divide the country since President Trump took office?” This time, 64% replied “More to divide,” while a mere 17% said, “More to unite.”

The numbers should provide a wakeup call to CNN, and especially resident bellyacher Jim Acosta, as well as the alphabets, the New York Times, and the Washington Post. As reported in May, 90% of the coverage of the president provided by these and other mainstream outlets is negative. In spite of this, Trump’s popularity has been steadily on the rise, which is a second indicator above and beyond the new poll that the public is wise to what’s going on.

Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?

In the Left’s haste to paint Donald Trump as the most polarizing president in history, they seem to forget that Barack Obama tied for that distinction during his fourth year of office, according to a 2013 Gallup poll.
