If you were to ask a roomful of liberals what frightens them most about the current period in American history, the more perceptive among them would say it’s the bad example that Donald Trump sets for young people. Some might home in on what they perceive to be the president’s deficits: his misogyny, his racism, and his general intolerance for people who aren’t like him.

Even when it’s not Trump per se, it’s so-called “traditional values” — and more specifically the eradication of the same — that has become Job One for the party of intellect. They bristle at the notion of celebrating Christmas, which they say is not inclusive even though 62% of the population is Christian and countless non-Christians have historically celebrated the gift-giving aspect of the holiday.

Another bugaboo of the Left is traditional stories and lore that are said to be guilty of one or another ‘ism. In the current issue of Parents’ magazine, actress Kristen Bell says she reads the classic children’s story “Snow White” to her daughters, Lincoln and Delta, every night, but only as a stepping stone to a discussion of the flaws in the work. “Don’t you think that it’s weird that the prince kisses Snow White without her permission?” Bell is quoted as asking her daughters.

Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?

It seems not to have occurred to Bell, 38, that generations of American children have read “Snow White” uncritically at bedtime — possibly including her — and have still managed to grow up to become liberals (aka, neurotic nit-pickers, a fate that likely awaits her daughters).

If the Left is genuinely concerned about the fate of future generations, maybe it should turn a critical eye toward people in its midst, like the Antifa member in Portland, Ore., who told a 9/11 widow, “Your husband should f*cking rot in the grave.” Or like James Thomas, a professor at the University of Mississippi, who earlier this month tweeted:

Bear in mind that Thomas’s job is to teach mostly young people. Why aren’t the Kristen Bells at least as concerned about the “lessons” imparted by him and others like him?
