Lindsey Graham surprises with vigorous dress-down of Senate Democrats
Fox News video

This isn’t the Lindsey Graham most Republicans would think of today, if asked to give a 25-word summary of his typical demeanor and attitudes.

The left’s relentless attacks on Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh, assisted and often driven by Graham’s Democratic colleagues, seem to have galvanized him.  During the long hearing on Thursday, for which Kavanaugh and accuser Christine Blasey Ford were witnesses, Graham spoke out with anger twice to excoriate the tactics deployed by the Democrats.

This video is from late afternoon when Kavanaugh was being questioned.

Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?

This is a slightly longer clip (Graham speaks for about four and a half minutes) when he was being interviewed by the media during a recess.  Again, the vigorous, unvarnished language hasn’t been typical of Graham.

Social media users have been on fire over the Graham clips

It’s not too much to say, as one user did, that Graham was willing to take it (figuratively speaking) to a street fight.  He did lay down the gauntlet to the Democrats.

In general the Tweeps were triggered (in a good way, on the Republican side).

Those on the left were triggered in the bad way.

Senator Graham certainly raised his voice, but in terms of accusations, he did confine himself to the selective, calculated procedural omissions and commissions of the Democrats that made it impossible to have a unified, bipartisan process for vetting the allegations against Kavanaugh.  Perhaps his voice has found a new register.  If so, it doesn’t seem to be based on Donald Trump, who has been in the White House for 20 months now.  It seems to be sparked by the no-holds-barred maneuvers from the Democrats.
