The details of the deadly hit-and-run of a homeless man by illegal alien Esteysi Sanchez are so gruesome that they are hard to imagine. Sanchez, whose blood alcohol level was twice the legal limit, was driving to her home in Oceanside, Calif., the morning of June 27, 2016 when her car jumped the curb and plowed into 69-year-old Jack Tenhulzen. The man was struck with such force that he literally flew out of his clothes and crashed through the car’s windshield on the passenger’s side. The force of the impact tore off one of his legs and sent it hurdling. Despite Sanchez’s having driven off after the accident, eventually abandoning the car, police found the leg resting on the trunk of the car.

Last Wednesday, Sanchez, who was found guilty of second-degree murder and other related felonies, was sentenced to the maximum penalty allowable under the law. She received a prison sentences of 15 years to life.

According to Fox News San Diego:

Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?

The prosecutor told jurors that Sanchez displayed a conscious disregard for human life when she drove drunk and ran over Tenhulzen on a sidewalk on Mission Road near the state Route 76 bridge. …

Defense attorney Herb Weston argued that Sanchez [who had been drinking heavily at a party] was tired and fell asleep behind the wheel and rode up on the sidewalk, striking Tenhulzen. He said Sanchez “freaked out” when she saw the victim’s body in her car and kept driving, finally stopping a block from her home.

If Sanchez ever gets out of prison, she will almost certainly be deported. ICE has already placed an immigration hold on her in the event she is released.
