On Wednesday Washington Post columnist Margaret Sullivan published a cautionary column titled “Trump needs to counter the hostility at his rallies before something terrible happens.” Her concerns for public safety arose out of the admittedly rude reception visited on CNN’s Jim Acosta at a Trump rally on Tuesday.

Sullivan’s finger-wagging would have been better served if she had aimed it not at a crowd of feisty Floridians chanting “CNN sucks” but at fellow liberals, whose actions have already crossed the line into actual violence against Trump supporters. In early July, an adult bully stole assaulted a teen for the crime of wearing a pro-Trump hat, stealing the boy’s hat and throwing drink in his face to boot.

And there have been worse examples than that. On Wednesday, the Cape Cod Times reported that Chloe Wright, a 25-year-old Massachusetts woman who appears to suffer from an advanced case of “Trump Anxiety Disorder” pleaded not guilty to charges stemming from a month-old incident in which she allegedly struck a vehicle and nearly ran over the driver because of a pro-Trump bumper sticker.

Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?

According to the paper:

On June 30, a man called Barnstable police to report a hit-and-run crash. He told responding officers he had been driving south on Bearses Way in Hyannis, and was stopped for a red light at the intersection of Route 28 when the driver of the car behind him began honking the horn, according to a police report.

The man continued driving onto Bassett Lane and the car followed, with the driver still honking, the man told police, according to the report. When he stopped again for a red light at the intersection with North Street, the driver also began yelling, the man said.

Thinking that something might be wrong with the back of his car, the man stepped out into the road. The driver began yelling at him about a Donald Trump bumper sticker on the back of his car, he told police.

“She said, ‘You voted for Trump?’” the man wrote in a statement. “I said yes. She called me a racist and several other names.”

The victim began recording the encounter on his phone, the article said.

According to the report, Wright allegedly drove around his car, prompting him to step back into the driver’s side door opening. She then drove at him, hitting the open door, the victim said.

“She bent my door and I had to lean back to avoid getting hit,” he wrote. “She also hit the side of my car.”

The man’s girlfriend corroborated his report and his video showed her car, a gray Honda Civic, striking the open driver’s side door.

Wright was stopped and arrested by state police on Monday. She was released on $1,250 bail, ordered to stay away from the victim, and is scheduled to reappear in court on August 28 for a pre-trial hearing.

Liberalism, as I’ve said time and again, is an ideology of insane bloodthirsty rage and hate. Sadly, Trump-haters prove that assertion correct on any given day.
