On Martin Luther King Day in 2017, Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) vowed to honor the memory and the slain civil rights leader by fighting President-elect Donald Trump on a host of issues.
On Wednesday, Schumer spat on King’s memory, making a mockery of his “dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character.”
Schumer announced he would vote against Trump judicial nominee Marvin Quattlebaum because he’s not a racial minority, the Daily Caller reported.
Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?
“The nomination of Marvin Quattlebaum speaks to the overall lack of diversity in President Trump’s selections for the federal judiciary,” Schumer whined. “Quattlebaum replaces not one, but two scuttled Obama nominees who were African American.”
“As of February 14th, 83% of the President Trump’s confirmed nominees were male, 92% were white. That represents the lowest share of non-white candidates in three decades,” he added. “It’s long past time that the judiciary starts looking a lot more like the America it represents. Having a diversity of views and experiences on the federal bench is necessary for the equal administration of justice.”
“I’ll be voting no on the Quattlebaum nomination,” he concluded.
Schumer’s uninformed and racist statement didn’t sit too well with many, including Rep. Trey Gowdy (R-S.C.) who educated the New York Democrat.
“I hate to interrupt Senator Schumer with facts,” Gowdy said. “But one nominee was withdrawn because of a significant bond issue, while the other became the Chief Justice of the South Carolina Supreme Court.”

He wasn’t finished, either, adding:
In addition, Senator Schumer did not oppose a recent white nominee in South Carolina also nominated by President Trump.

and
Marvin Quattlebaum is uniquely well qualified for the bench and universally respected by all in South Carolina. Hopefully Senator Schumer can find a way to look at really unusual factors (like qualifications) in the future.

Qualifications? Apparently that doesn’t matter to Schumer.
