Who says you can’t learn from Hollywood activists? Yesterday we were informed by actor Michael Ian Black that Hurricane Irma, the second category 5 storm to batter the southern U.S. in recent weeks, was in some way related to the Right’s refusal to believe in science. If Black was referring to the brand of science that accepts as gospel that there 50 odd (some very odd!) human sexes, then I’m inclined to agree with him.

Now we have a new theory from another Tinseltown Mensa candidate. During an interview with British television, actress Jennifer Lawrence posited that “Hurricane Harvey and Hurricane Irma are signs of Mother Nature’s ‘wrath’ over Donald Trump’s presidency,” according to New York’s Daily News. She went on to add:

You know, it’s the new language that’s forming. I don’t even recognize it. It’s also scary to know — it’s been proven through science — climate change is due to human activity, and we continue to ignore it, and the only voice that we really have is through voting.

Yes, indeed. The science is so spot-on that after Irma pounded the Florida Keys, experts advised Floridians to flee to the state’s Gulf Coast — where the storm subsequently headed after shifting course over a 24-hour period. Apparently, Mother Nature is not only angry but capricious.

Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?

When Hollywood liberals aren’t berating Donald Trump for colluding with the storm, they are taking him to task for his selfishness. Here’s Michael Moore on Friday:

Splendid idea! Rather than relocating hapless Floridians to the state’s West Coast, which is now under siege, send them to a resort on a barrier island that in any case is under mandatory evacuation.

We should feel lucky we have these liberal scholars looking out for us. If we didn’t, we might believe that the world is round.
