“Get me away from her!” That was the command Hizzoner (Hizzdishonor) barked at his security entourage when an angry mob armed with pitchforks approached him on the streets of Queens.
Actually, it wasn’t an angry mob. It was a solitary 63-year-old granny. And she wasn’t armed with anything more deadly than her opinion, which de Blasio had no interest in hearing for the sole reason, ostensibly, that it didn’t jibe with his own.
It was Day 4 of the mayor’s “City Hall in Your Borough” tour of Queens, and he had just finished boasting about his $16 million-plan to fix city sidewalks damaged by tree roots when he noticed a woman approaching him. Assuming she wanted to shake his hand he approached benevolently. But as she drew closer, he sensed this was not a well-wisher and began backtracking toward his limo.

The silver-haired constituent had him come to give de Blasio an earful was one Vickie Paladino. The mayor probably caught a few words of Paladino’s rebuke, which, according to multiple sources, began:
I want to know why you let your police officers down and our country down by going to Germany and protesting against our country.
That may have been all de Blasio heard, but the rest of his constituents had a chance to hear what was on the feisty Paladino’s mind. And from their choice of station:
