A troubling reminder this morning of where the fight on abortion-on-demand is headed appears in LU’s headlines. Contained in the excerpt from LifeNews is a quote from a speech Hillary Clinton made last year in which she said:
Laws have to be backed up with resources and political will. And deep-seated cultural codes, religious beliefs and structural biases have to be changed. [Emphasis added]
Deep-seated religious beliefs have to be changed? Mrs. Clinton suscribes to an interestingd definition of rights.
Sadly, the clash has already come to the campus of one Catholic university, DePaul, which apparently is more concerned with protecting the feelings of “Black Lives Matter” protesters than it is protecting the lives of the unborn.
Students at the nation’s largest Catholic university are fighting back after the school’s administration barred them from placing an “Unborn Lives Matter” poster on campus.
Recently, the DePaul University College Republicans said the school denied them permission to hang the pro-life poster because it could offend supporters of the Black Lives Matter movement.
Meanwhile, students have observed university staff hanging “Black Lives Matter” posters in their campus offices without any repercussion.
In a letter to the College Republicans, DePaul University president Dennis Holtschneider explained the decision:
“By our nature, we are committed to developing arguments and exploring important issues that can be steeped in controversy and, oftentimes, emotion. Yet there will be times when some forms of speech challenge our grounding in Catholic and Vincentian values. When that happens, you will see us refuse to allow members of our community be subjected to bigotry that occurs under the cover of free speech.”
Only in the twisted logic of a progressive university campus can an “Unborn Lives Matter” poster be considered bigotry in any way, shape, or form.
What a disgrace.
Bill O’Reilly did a segment on this outrage that is worth watching:
