Matt Lauer, who will host candidate forum, listed on Clinton Foundation website

That Matt Lauer is a liberal will surprise no one. Anyone who has ever heard the “Today Show” host conduct an interview is aware of where his ideological allegiances lie.

What you might not know is that Lauer, who has been chosen to moderate the upcoming Commander-in-Chief Forum with Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump, is listed as a “notable past member” on the website of the Clinton Global Initiative, the leadership arm of the Clinton Foundation:

Careful readers and trolls will observe that two of the other names on the list — Great Van Susteren and Maria Bartiromo — are both currently employed by Fox News and Fox Business respectively, which would appear to appear to detract from the impact of the story. But according to Alex Griswold of Mediaite, which ran the story first, “Bartiromo reached out to Mediaite to deny that she had ever been a member of the Clinton Global Initiative.”

Griswold further that the “page on the Clinton Foundation website that listed several other prominent journalists as members as well has since been deleted.”

The Commander-in-Chief Forum will take place at at the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum in New York City on Sept. 7. It will precede the presidential debates, which are not scheduled to commence until Sept. 26.
