Ricocheting around the right-wing blogosphere and linked on Drudge Report this week was a piece with the headline “Russia Is Reportedly Set to Release Clinton’s Intercepted Emails”.
Drudge’s source was the obscure OilPrice.com, a site operated “by Defense and Foreign Affairs, a geopolitical news publication offered by the International Strategic Studies Association.”
Prompted by Drudge, other high traffic sites such as Breitbart and Daily Mail helped the revelation “go viral.”

But then, in an ironic twist, Infowars, a somewhat controversial site with reports that are occasionally debunked, posted the following headline:
Debunked: No, Russia is not about to release Hillary’s emails
Infowars reported that the OilPrice.com piece was based on “clearly fake reports centering on the Russian government and President Obama.”
At this writing, and since it is difficult to separate truth from fiction, here is my take on this matter as someone who has closely followed both the Clinton email server and Foundation scandals.
Let’s start with this intriguing paragraph from the OilPrice.com piece:
The apparent message from Moscow, through the intelligence community, seemed to indicate frustration with the pace of the official U.S. Department of Justice investigation into the so-called server scandal, which seemed to offer prima facie evidence that U.S. law had been violated by Mrs. Clinton’s decision to use a private server through which to conduct official and often highly-secret communications during her time as Secretary of State. [Emphasis added]
From this paragraph one surmises that the “frustrated” Russian government has read all of Hillary’s emails including the 30,000 that she deleted with her “yoga routines” and “Chelsea’s wedding plans.”
This assumption is lent support by the claim that the Russians hacked into the Democratic National Committee’s data system and successfully stole opposition research on Donald Trump, donor information and much more. (The Russian government has since issued a denial.) Furthermore, you will want to spend some time checking out this link because the hacker has quite a pompous attitude, admits to hacking Hillary and even provides a secret document from Hillary’s State Department as proof.
Denial or not, given that the Russians are known to have hacked numerous sites throughout our government and military, it is reasonable to assume that over the last several years President Putin has been amusing himself with the content of Hillary’s emails. (Maybe he even tried some of her yoga routines since he likes to stay in shape.)
Now, let’s delve into the mind of that lovable former KGB agent, Russian President Vladimir Putin. Why would Vlad be “frustrated with the pace” of the Justice Department’s investigation? The answer is hate and opportunity.
For years it has been widely reported that Putin despises Barack Obama. Thus, the pending release of Clinton’s “deleted” emails (likely through a third party such as Wikileaks) provides Putin with a golden opportunity to humiliate Obama in two ways. First, Putin proves that while Clinton served as secretary of state, her communication system was an open door to U.S. secrets allowing access to the emails of everyone with whom she communicated, including Obama.
Second, Putin could damage Obama’s chosen successor. If Putin is complicit in allowing Clinton’s “deleted” emails to be released and the emails prove that Clinton violated numerous U.S. laws, there is a good chance that she will be forced to withdraw from the presidential race.
In fact, Wikileaks co-founder Julian Assange warned in a recent interview:
More information will be published about Hillary Clinton, enough to indict her if the US government is courageous enough to do so, in what he predicts will be “a very big year” for the whistle blowing website.
If it was Putin who provided Assange with Hillary’s damaging emails, Putin is salivating at the thought of intervening in the U.S. election and possibly altering the course of U.S. history.
Time now to insert Donald Trump into this mix of colorful characters. Remember that Putin is already on record praising Donald Trump. In December of 2015, CNN reported:
“He is a bright and talented person without any doubt,” Putin said, adding that Trump is “an outstanding and talented personality.”
In the same CNN report, Trump returned Putin’s affection:
“It is always a great honor to be so nicely complimented by a man so highly respected within his own country and beyond,” Trump said in a statement released by campaign spokeswoman Hope Hicks. “I have always felt that Russia and the United States should be able to work well with each other towards defeating terrorism and restoring world peace, not to mention trade and all of the other benefits derived from mutual respect.”
Based on these exchanges might Putin think that his own political future and Russian interests will benefit more from a Trump administration than from Clinton?
Even though this DNC hack has some intriguing lists and documents, those are chicken feed compared to the big kahuna: the day when Wikileaks posts Hillary’s damaging emails and all hell breaks loose.
If the emails prove that the accusations alleged in Peter Schweizer’s bestselling book and movie “Clinton Cash” are true, and Hillary sold State Department actions in exchange for Clinton Foundation donations, then who will be the Democratic Party’s presidential nominee?
Most likely Vice President Biden with Senator Elizabeth Warren as his running mate. Maybe it was only a coincidence when last month Biden said that if he had run for president he would have asked Warren to join his ticket. Now the possibility exists that he might get his wish. Even though Republicans laugh at the prospects of “President Joe Biden” this could be a formidable ticket.
Meanwhile, since Hillary’s email and foundation scandals have yet to be resolved through the Justice Department, Assange knows he has a spectacular opportunity to intervene in the 2016 race. With a few clicks, Wikileaks will dominate world news and reveal the extent of both Clintons’ vast global corruption to the American electorate.
Undoubtedly Vladimir Putin is counting down the days for the Wikileaks fireworks to begin. He knows that the resulting explosions could not only destroy Clinton’s quest to be Madame President, but also humiliate and embarrass President Obama.
Watch out folks… expect this to happen very soon and with it the potential for an historic shake-up that could redefine the 2016 race.
