Our FLOTUS knows how to get her way, as many a school district has learned — if to the distress of students and parents who think school lunches should be, you know, edible.
Now, in the lazy sunset of her (husband’s) time in the nation’s highest office, Michelle Obama is issuing a blunt directive to men. Presumably she means to address the men of America, although she’d probably say, if pressed, that all of the world’s 3.5 billion-odd men need to take heed. The message? “Be better.”
Fortunately, in case you tune her out (below) before you can fully absorb the directive, CNSNews has posted a partial transcript of it:

“Be better at everything. Be better fathers,” she said during a conversation with one-time talk-show host Oprah Winfrey. “Just being good fathers who love your daughters and are providing a solid example of what it means to be a good man in the world. That is the greatest gift that the men in my life gave to me.”
She urged the men who were among the estimated 5,000 people who attended the daylong, White House-organized conference to be part of their family’s lives, to do the dishes and not “babysit” their children.
“Be engaged. Don’t just think going to work and coming home makes you a man,” Mrs. Obama said.
“Be better. Just be better. I could go on, but I’m not. You get the point, fellas,” she said.
Inspiration comes in all forms, doesn’t it, fellas?
Bonus video: FLOTUS also can’t wait to exit the White House, where she’s had such a rough time for the last seven-plus years, so she can go shopping at Target. There was a time when she couldn’t shake a really unpleasant memory of a shopping expedition to Target. But presumably, that’s all behind her.
