Lena Dunham got a lot of attention for a few seconds when she disclosed, just before Halloween, that she planned to dress up as a “Planned Parenthood doctor.”
Understandably, the jokes about her choosing a scary costume theme were much more prevalent on the political right than on the left.
Her costume didn’t come across in the posted image as particularly evocative, since you had to read the label over the pocket on her white coat to get anything out of it. Otherwise, she just looked like someone dressing as a doctor. (Or, alternatively, a Mercedes-Benz auto repair customer representative.)
Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?

This is what we would have called “lame” when I was a kid. But another anti-childbearing enthusiast managed to put together an ensemble that screams “lame enough to gain its own cult following.”
Ann Friedman was photographed coming downstairs in her costume, which one critic suggested looked like a “turd with a string.”
Tweeter @bridgetlwilhelm, perpetrating our Tweet of the Day, felt that it “won Halloween.”

Friedman chimed in, crowing that she “was safely embedded and non-hormonally prevented pregnancy at several parties last night.”
