Another cop given disrespectful treatment by a food service employee

Since police need to eat while on duty, one of two things needs to happen at this point. Either members of the force start bringing lunch (and where applicable dinner) from home, along with a thermos of coffee. Or counter employees at restaurants and coffee bars be told to tone down the anti-police sentiment or find another line of employment.

According to GoLocal, the latest incident occurred in Providence, R.I., when Officer William O’Donnell and his partner entered a Dunkin’ Donuts, where the other officer purchased a container of coffee. According to a post on O’Donnell’s Facebook page:

The [counter] worker was immediately rude, and didn’t appear to want to serve … [men] in uniform. Upon leaving … [my colleague] noticed what she wrote on his coffee cup…#blacklivesmatter. ? Would you drink it? My suggestion … absolutely not, go to Starbucks. When is this silliness going to end. But if the store gets robbed she’ll be calling us immediately to help AND we will because that’s what we do!!!!

coffe cup black lives matter

Not that the pair would receive better treatment at Starbucks, whose CEO initiated a “Race Together” campaign in March, where baristas were instructed to write political messages, usually having to do with race, on the Styrofoam cups.

This idiocy is not new, nor is it limited to coffee purveyors. In December of 2014, members of New York’s Finest walked into a Chipotle Mexican Grill in Brooklyn. The cops were there to order lunch, but instead the unidentified employee greeted them with the inane”hands up, don’t shoot” gesture.

One might hope that the solution to this unacceptable and unprofessional behavior would be disciplinary action on the part of management of these chains. The handling of an incident last month, however, suggests that fix is not forthcoming. After Officer Jennifer Martin of the Pembroke Pines (Fla.) Police Department was refused service by a black Arby’s employee, his “punishment” consisted of a suspension with pay.

What makes all this particularly outrageous is that the police are not the enemies of these hourly wage earners, as Officer O’Donnell makes clear in his Facebook post. They have been conditioned by liberal politicians and an enabling mainstream media to believe the myth that they are being systematically targeted and abused by the men in blue.
