The crimes were not only vicious — they included gang rape — but evince an element of sadism: In each case, the male in the couple was forced to watch as his female companion was sexually assaulted.
From Detroit ABC affiliate WXYZ comes word that police are searching for suspects in two iterations of the crime that occurred last Thursday. They are also also on the lookout for suspects in a third attack fitting the same pattern that happened on July 11.
In each incident, a couple walking alone was confronted by six men who dragged them around to the back of a building in a remote area, stripped them of their clothes, robbed them, and then took turns raping the woman as her boyfriend looked on. In each case, the suspects fled on foot, but were seen nearby in a blue Ford SUV.
One of the suspects is described as a black male with medium complexion, 5’8” tall, and weighing 150 pounds. He had a goatee and was wearing a blue Polo jogging suit with a red Polo emblem. A police sketch has been provided:
The other suspect is also black but with a darker complexion. He is estimated to be about 22 years old, 5’9” tall, weighing 220 pounds. Although the WXYZ report makes no mention it, he seems to be clean-shaven, judging from a police sketch:
The remaining four suspects are also described as black males.
The only witness police have been able to locate reportedly told them, “I ain’t seen nothing, don’t know nothing.”
