Video: WH nonplussed over Harvard faculty outrage over Obamacare

In today’s White House press briefing, Fox News’s Ed Henry asked about the hissy fit members of the faculty at Harvard University are now experiencing over the sharp increase in their health insurance premiums thank to Obamacare. Henry asked specifically whether it wasn’t “a little hypocritical” for onetime bullish supporters of the health care law to grouse now that it had affected them adversely. One might quibble that it was a lot hypocritical, but that’s another story.

Press Secretary Josh Earnest had no answer for Henry’s question other than to engage in a little wishful thinking. His response, accompanied by a broad grin, was:

I can only imagine the question you’d be asking me if the New York Times reported that the faculty at Harvard was getting a great deal.

Presumably, Earnest can also imagine what it would be like if his boss’s approval ratings were stratospheric, if unemployment were at 2%, if the U.S. were loved and respected across the globe, if the threat of Islamic terrorism had been eradicated entirely, and much else in the same vein. It’s just hard to understand what point he is attempting to make by constructing an alternative reality and speculating on how a conservative newsman would react to it.
