A Philadelphia-area mother is under arrest, along with four adult friends who took part in the rape and infliction of pain on their five young children. According to New York’s Daily News, 31-year-old Shakia Jackson told police that “she and the other adults were only playing” and that the children, who range in age from 1 to 12 years, “wanted to be shot” with BB guns.

Jackson never said whether the children also expressed an interest in being sexually abused, but sexually abused they were:

One of the mothers performed a sexual act on the 2-year-old boy and the children were forced to watch the adults engage in sex acts with each other. In one instance, the three male defendants held down one of the mothers and forced the 2-year-old’s genitals into her mouth. The children were subject to assault including punches and slaps and were thrown over a banister and shot with the guns.

In addition to Jackson, charges were filed against Danielle Hammond, 22; Mark Isom, 22; Daryl Carter, 24; and William Wade, 23. The 1-year-old child belonged to Hammond. The remaining four children, the youngest of whom was 2, were Jackson’s.

The crimes occurred at a home in Darby, Pa., a suburb of Philly, that is listed as belonging to Jackson and Carter. The other three adults are neighbors.

According to

The Delaware County District Attorney’s Criminal Investigation Division began investigating the alleged crimes occurring at the house on 7th Street near Cedar Avenue in June. All of the adults charged in the case either lived at the house “or hung out at the residence,” according to court documents.

They give adults face a number of charges including corruption of minors, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse with a child, and simple assault.
