Whether your goal is simply to draw a bullseye over his face or to know who to gun down when you see him, Yahoo News aims to oblige by publishing photos of officer Darren Wilson, the man who shot and killed Michael Brown. (As a courtesy to Wilson and his family, and in the interests of serving justice, no link to the page will be provided.)
Yahoo’s excuse for this abomination and breach of journalistic ethics is reputedly to share the advice that Wilson earned a commendation for his “extraordinary effort in the line of duty.” There is even a quote from the officer’s father, who wrote:
Very proud of my son, Darren Wilson on his receiving a Commendation from his Police Department.
Between Al Sharpton and numerous vigilante groups — Tauheed Youth Development Life, the New Black Panther Party (NBPP), the Organization for Black Struggle (OBS), the Moorish Science Temple, the Coalition Against Police Crimes and Repression, the Nation of Islam – Mosque 28, and the Universal African Peoples Organization — there are enough people out for Wilson’s hide before the entire story of his encounter with Brown is known.
Yahoo: Webster has the definition as someone “who is very rude, loud, or stupid.” That seems about right.
A pox on them!
*UPDATE* It appears Yahoo’s dereliction was just the tip of the iceberg. Via Gateway Pundit Jim Hoft (again, links have been deleted):
CNN broadcast a report Friday that showed the house, including the street number, of the Ferguson police officer who police say shot Mike Brown. The officer has been in hiding due to death threats since the shooting last Saturday. His name, Darren Wilson, was just released Friday morning.
Another news outlet apologized for broadcasting video of Wilson’s home while others have virtually drawn a map to Wilson’s house for those bent on vengeance.
[…]
The UK Daily Mail also named the community, posted photos of the officer and gave a description of the house.
USA Today also named the community and reported a local police presence.
The Washington Post named the street where Wilson lives.
Even Yahoo took a second bite of the apple, adding the name of the community.
Hoft asks whether the media are trying to get Wilson lynched. The answer seems obvious.
By the way, if you think the liberal media are the only ones that have decided Wilson is guilty before he’s had a chance to tell his side of the story, be aware that the Obama Justice Department told the Ferguson police not to release the video of Brown robbing a store shortly before his deadly run-in with the law.
