In a recent column, I explored the liberal response to Barack Obama’s gratuitous sardonic needling of those who disagree with him — an unflattering trait that is apparently hard-wired into his psyche.
In an attempt to put a happy face on this personality deficit, the Daily Beast’s Dean Obeidallah applauded Obama’s “use of comedy to taunt and undermine his political foes.”
I imagine that the speech in the following video which dates to 2011 is the sort of rib-tickler Obeidallah is referring to. In it, Obama is talking about the excessive security measures he has taken to meet GOP concerns about the southern border.
If there is a joke at all in this harangue it is at Obama’s (and Obeidallah’) expense.
