Maybe three’s a charm? Barack Obama’s first term and his second term to date don’t inspire hope, much less a desire for change, at least as it pertains to the 22nd Amendment. That’s the one that stipulates that “no person shall be elected to the office of the President more than twice” — the one that would need be repealed in order for Obama to run for and, if elected, serve a third term.
The “if elected” is a biggie, but so is the repeal of the term-limits amendment, which would require two thirds of both Houses and ratification by the legislatures of three fourths of all states.
Obama has a better chance of winning the lottery, though if he does, can we be sure he’ll “share the wealth” with those needier than him?
