Seeking to reassure the nation that the well over 600,000,000 of their taxpayer dollars weren’t a total waste, Barack Obama did his best today as the country’s Cheerleader-in-Chief, but instead ended up playing the fool at a less than funny comedy of errors, as reported by both NewsMax.com and The Weekly Standard on Oct. 21, 2013.
Just about anyone technologically savvy enough to flip on a light switch knows that HealthCare.gov (aka: the ObamaCare website) is an unmitigated disaster. So to the slim majority of Americans that still pay taxes, the cost of the ObamaCare website has so far pegged-out at $634 million with no indication what the cost of the three week overhaul will be tacked on to the bottom line.
Bad Omen Number One…
So to soothe the frayed nerves of a glitch-plagued America, Obama gave a nationally televised speech this morning from the Rose Garden.
But he was late.
Bad Omen Number Two…
At times coming across as a late night infomercial salesman hawking extra-absorbent kitchen wipes, Obama excitedly relayed the toll-free 1-800-number and reassured the nation that operators were standing by:
The prices are good … It is a good deal!
Twitter was abuzz with citizen journalists relating their interaction with the ObamaCare fallback phone number. Some callers got a busy signal, others an automated message, while still others were advised to visit Healthcare.gov.
Bad Omen Number Three…
A woman identified by Real Clear Politics as Karmel Allison was a bit more than simply woozy during the press event. She had to be escorted away from the assemblage behind Obama after growing faint. Eventually realizing there was some commotion less than three feet away, Obama-faced about to see if he could be of assistance (click here for video).
Seeing the young woman was lightheaded but well attended to, Obama leaned to towards the microphones and looking to the audience announced loudly, “I gotcha, you’re OK.
As reported, Allison is pregnant and suffers from Type 1 diabetes. Regarding the young lady passing out during Obama’s rah-rah speech, one commenter at the Youtube video page dryly noted:
