Kavanaugh confirmed

The Senate voted in the last hour to confirm Brett Kavanaugh to a seat on the Supreme Court.

The final vote was 50-48.  Lisa Murkowski didn’t cast a no vote, because Senator Steve Daines of Montana, a yes vote, was at his daughter’s wedding.  Since the tally was at 50 if neither voted, they made a “paired vote” agreement to make it a wash.

We will add to this post if events dictate as the day wears on.  There were protests underway in and around the Capitol building throughout the vote.
