Hey, when five cops patrolling a Black Lives Matter rally are shot to death by a black dude who was out to “kill whites,” someone’s got to sweat the small stuff.
That someone is none other than BLM’s own Shaun King, who is castigating the media as racist for abbreviating Dallas shooter Micah Xavier Johnson’s middle name.
After Johnson’s identity was publicized Friday, King took to Twitter to refer to the media’s naming of Johnson as a “racist dog whistle.”
Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?

King is seemingly complaining that by abbreviating Johnson’s middle name (Xavier), the media is inviting comparisons to black activists like Malcolm X, who changed their birth surnames to an “X” to reject what they regarded as “slave names.”
What makes King’s complaint doubly stupid is that Johnson was an advocate of black power. The website Heavy notes that his “likes” on Facebook included “pages connected to Elijah Mohammed, the founder of the Nation of Islam, and also like The New Black Panther Party and the Black Riders Liberation Party.”
The article further notes that in May he posted a “Black Power” image.
