Associate Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg died this evening surrounded by her family at her home in Washington, D.C., due to complications of metastatic pancreas cancer. She was 87 years old.

Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg was a credit to the Court.
I disagreed with many of her decisions but they were all well reasoned and well argued.
She was a close friend of her ideological opposite, Justice Scalia.
They both loved opera, law and the U.S.A.

Ginsburg — or RBG, as she was known to her army of fans — was 87.
This development, long feared given her age and health, will be a severe test of Republican courage and solidarity between now and election day.
As a “developing” story, of course, it has its limits. This story has gotten to its end, and new one begins.
Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg of the U.S. Supreme Court has served on the nation’s highest court since 10 August 1993. She has been on the federal bench continuously since her first appointment in 1980, when Jimmy Carter nominated her to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia.
