Last Friday, Aurora, Colo. NBC affiliate KUSA carried a story in which a black man approached a white stranger and threatened to kill him and his dog. The assailant then produced a knife and proceeded to stab the white man, yelling, “Black lives matter” as he did. The following day, a black man in South Carolina opened fire on thirty Trump supporters for the crime of waving American flags and holding up signs avowing their support. Fortunately, no one died in either incident, but not for lack of trying.
Another attempt was made on Aug. 25 at an AutoZone store in Columbus, Ga., when 19-year-old Jayvon Hatchett “stabbed a store employee in an unprovoked attack,” CBS affiliate WRBL reports. Hatchett’s motive? He “felt the need to find a white male to kill.”
Yet another video that first appeared on Instagram shows a black man stealthy creeping up behind a white crossing the street. When he is within striking distance, the black man clobbers his target with a brick. The victim collapses to the ground, clearly unconscious and probably seriously injured. It’s impossible to say because neither the assailant’s or victim’s name is given, nor is the location disclosed.
Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?
2017 was the year when "punch a Nazi" was endorsed by the media.

These random acts of violence are reminiscent of the “polar bear” attacks (aka games of “Knockout”) common during the Obama years, when rendering a white stranger unconscious with a blow to the head were considered great sport among black youth. The current rash of attacks, which are far more severe because they involve weapons, appear to derive from the same source: a steady diet of media reports that paint all white people with the same broad “racist” brush.
