A fund dedicated to bailing out arrested George Floyd protesters in Minnesota is now using its considerable resources to put violent offenders back on the streets.
According to Fox News, the Minnesota Freedom Fund (MFF), which has attracted the attention — and open pocketbooks — of Hollywood liberals, is also receiving cash support from staffers from the campaigns of presumptive Democratic nominee Joe Biden and his newly-minted running mate, Sen. Kamala Harris.

But the big story is that the MFF, which is awash in greenbacks, is not just freeing protesters whose crime was disturbing the peace. Rather, the organization is springing people accused of murder and other violent felonies. Among MFF’s “success” stories are Darnika Floyd and Christopher Boswell. Floyd was charged with second-degree murder for allegedly stabbing her friend to death. MFF paid $100,000 in cash to bail her out. Boswell is a twice-convicted rapist. One of his victims was 17 years old. He is currently facing charges of kidnapping, assault, and sexual assault in two separate cases. MFF paid $350,000 in cash for his release.
An equally big problem is that there is that there is no real paper trail or transparency in who MFF has bailed out. Reporters with Fox News affiliate KMSP had to dig through court records for a notation that MFF had paid the bail. Bail bond providers are regulated, but the Minnesota Freedom Fund is not.
The fund’s interim executive director, Greg Lewin, says it isn’t about the charges but about bailing out people who can’t afford to pay the bond themselves. Says Lewin, “I often don’t even look at a charge when I bail someone out. I will see it after I pay the bill because it is not the point. The point is the system we are fighting.” (RELATED: Democrats’ ‘bail reform’ has already cost a life: ‘Seething’ family speaks out)
