A university president who discriminates against white people plagiarized large portions of her doctoral dissertation.
Heidi Anderson, president of the University of Maryland Eastern Shore, recycled other people’s papers without even citing them in her 1986 doctoral dissertation on computers in pharmaceutical education.
Much of the “plagiarism comes from a paper published two years earlier by Donna E. Larson, a nursing professor. Anderson’s paper” uses “large swaths of Larson’s work.” Larson is not “mentioned anywhere else in the piece.”
Other sections of the paper “copy a summary of a book by Christopher Evans, a paper from medical professor Robert M. Caldwell, and several others.”
The plagiarism “was discovered by Donna Satterlee, a former professor who was fired from the school” racial targeting of white staff. “She is now suing the school for race-based discrimination, harassment, and disparate treatment, among other wrongdoings.
Satterlee “discovered the similarities between Anderson’s work and others’ by using Turnitin, plagiarism detection software typically used by professors when evaluating the legitimacy of students’ work.”
Satterlee says the president of the unversity, Heidi Anderson, “has expressed a preference for African-Americans in hiring of faculty and staff and the upper-administration of the university exhibits a marked bias against Caucasian and Asian citizens.”
Satterlee notes that “Black faculty and administrators are paid vastly higher than others of similar or better qualifications.”
