Members of a child sex abuse ring were arrested this weekend for sexually abusing kids as young as 3 years old in an underground bunker in Brent, Alabama. The local sheriff described the acts of rape and sodomy as “abhorrent” and “horrific.”

The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office announced on July 20 that William Chase McElroy, Dalton Terrell, and Andres Velazquez-Trejo were arrested and charged with child sex abuse.

McElroy, 21, has been charged with four counts of rape, six counts of human trafficking, six counts of sodomy, and four counts of kidnapping. Terrell, 21, was charged with six counts of rape, 12 counts of sodomy, and five counts of human trafficking. Velazquez-Trejo, 29, was charged with six counts of human trafficking.

AL.com reported on Sunday that the three men allegedly carried out their child sex abuse operation for over a year, from January 2024 to April 2025. The alleged victims ranged from 3 to 10 years old.

McElroy and Terrell reportedly admitted to committing sexual abuse, while Velazquez-Trejo allegedly sold nude images of the victims to other suspects before selling the kids themselves.

The suspects all live in trailers within a mile of each other.

The kids were allegedly drugged and brought to the bunker, according to a report by WBRC, which also described the bunker as a local storm shelter.

Robert Turner Jr., the local district attorney, said in a July 22 statement there are “more anticipated arrests to follow” beyond the three men already charged. “These allegations are sadistic and sickening,” he said.
