Tom Homan Tells Stephen A. Smith Why He Thinks Biden Purposely Let In Illegal Immigrants

Border czar Tom Homan explained to Stephen A. Smith on a podcast Friday why he thinks former President Joe Biden purposely let illegal immigrants in.

During an episode of “The Stephen A. Smith Show,” Smith pointed out Biden’s deviation from both former President Barack Obama’s and President Donald Trump’s immigration strategies, saying that Obama had deported more immigrants than Trump, yet Biden reversed many of these policies upon entering office in 2020. Homan shared his thoughts on Biden’s motives.

“Why do I think he did it on purpose? Because Joe Biden was vice president under Barack Obama when he had those record removals. Alejandro Mayorkas was a deputy secretary under Obama when he had those removals,” Homan said. “And we had families. We had thousands of families come across the border every day. How did we stop it? We built family residential centers. We held them long enough to see a judge, 90% lost a case, 90%, so we put them on an airplane, sent them home and border numbers tanked.”

Homan elaborated.

“So both those men [Biden and Mayorkas] knew how we solved that crisis. When it came back in, as the now secretary and the president, what did they do? The complete opposite. They didn’t defend. They released. They didn’t make them see a judge, and they weren’t removing them,” Homan said. “So they did a complete opposite of what they knew worked under President Obama.”

Homan speculated as to whether these policy reversals were strategic, aimed at increasing Democratic influence by boosting their numbers in the House of Representatives. (RELATED: ‘It Really Says A Lot’: Newt Gingrich Says Recent GOP Actions Signal Major Conservative Shift In Politics)

“I think this administration thought these millions of people are gonna be future Democratic voters, but one of the things Biden also did, in addition to destroying all the programs we put in place to give us the most secure border, he overturned the Trump census rule, which means millions of people that they released in sanctuary cities will be counted in the next census,” Homan said. “Which is going to result in more seats in the House for the Dems. So I truly believe they saw a future political benefit with this.”

Homan accused former Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas of lying about border security from his first day in office, during a Fox News interview where he contrasted this with Trump’s quick action to secure the border in less than a month. Despite Mayorkas’ repeated assurances that the border was secure, Border Patrol figures from U.S. Customs and Border Protection show millions of illegal immigrant encounters since the fiscal year 2021 began.

Homan said that United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement has been working hard to intensify its deportation operations, outpacing the previous administration’s efforts by threefold.
