Íñigo Errejón, a senior figure in the Spanish government and a trans-rights activist, has resigned as a member of Spain’s Parliament after 13 women accused him of sexual harassment and assault. He admitted he made “mistakes” and blamed them on working in a “neoliberal environment [and the] patriarchy.”
The Sunday Times reports on this in the article, “Spanish left-wing leader resigns over sexual assault claims.” The Times notes that the “allegations against Errejón, who was tipped as the next Sumar leader, have dealt a blow to the feminist credentials of the government of Pedro Sánchez, the Socialist prime minister. They have also prompted accusations that Spain’s radical left ignored sexual harassment allegations made against Errejón years ago….Until his resignation Errejón was [his party’s] parliamentary spokesman. In her complaint, according to El Pais, [Actress Elisa] Mouliaá alleged that he accosted her at a party three years ago and took her into a room, locked the door and touched her several times without her consent before exposing his penis. Afterwards, they went by car to Errejón’s home and there he tried to have sex with her against her will.” Other women have also accused Errejón of sexual assault or harassment, too.
Another trans-rights activist in Spanish government resigned after revelations that included the fact that he eats his own poop and put video of it on the internet. He was forced to leave his position as an official in charge of youth services. The Publica reported on this scandal in the news article, “Gay Spanish Politician With Left-Wing Governing Party Resigns After Photos Circulate Showing Him Eating His Own Feces.” As the news article explains:
A gay Spanish municipal councillor has resigned from his position after photos were publicized of him eating his own excrement as part of a scat fetish.
Daniel Gómez del Barrio served on the council for Illescas, a small town of around 30,000 people just south of the country’s capital. He represented PSOE, the main left-wing party in Spain, whose leader is currently the Prime Minister.
In mid February, photos and videos of Gómez were shared that he had posted on social media accounts and pornographic websites. In one video, the councillor, who is in his late twenties, is seemingly naked on the floor and eating his own feces.
A report from French news source FDS claimed that the politician was offering himself up for sexual use, and described himself as wanting to be “exposed, humiliated, degraded.” He also described his desire to “eat c*cks, be a whore, and be used as a urinal,” with El Diairo also claiming he referred to himself as a “sexual slave.”…further images of Gómez were available on the internet, where he was naked and his official council ID was allegedly visible. On March 27, Gómez was forced to resign, and was dismissed from his position as the town council’s head of youth, children and families by mayor José Manuel Tofiño.
