Progressive politicians, activists, and journalists who support defunding the police are happy about the massacres of civilians in Israel by Hamas fighters. They view it as a successful form of “decolonization.”
In Colorado, Democratic “Representative Tim Hernandez, a Marxist who advocates for defunding the police, has not only expressed support for the Hamas attack but has also joined in the pro-Palestinian rally at the state Capitol.”
BLM Chicago, which supported defunding the police, posted a tweet in support of Hamas, celebrating paragliding Hamas terrorists who slaughtered 40 babies at an Israeli Kibbutz.
As a moderate Democrat notes, “I’ve noticed an overlap between people who are celebrating/justifying/defending Hamas’ violence here and people who call themselves ‘abolitionists’ and have ‘Stop Cop City’ hashtags in their bios.”
A staffer of a magazine that promotes “criminal justice reform” noticed that many people in her social circles seemed gleeful about the slaughter in Israel on Instagram.
“It’s particularly disturbing to me to see some BLM chapters cheerlead the slaughter of Jewish civilians, including children. Jews have historically been among the first to march with blacks and to this day Jews are consistently among the most receptive audiences for antiracism,” says the black writer Thomas Chatterton Williams.
As Erika Sanzi points out, It is “Incredible but sadly predictable to see the ‘words are violence”‘ crowd either a) have nothing to say about the murder, rape and kidnapping of Jews in homes, cars, at the bus stop, at at a music festival or b) say they aren’t sure how they feel or c) defend it or d) celebrate it.”
In addition to killing over 800 Israelis, Hamas terrorists also killed dozens of European or Asian people, including ten students from Nepal and “12 Thai workers.” And they kidnapped tourists or nationals from many countries, such as 10 Italian citizens.
Among the hostages seized this month by Hamas were at least four Americans. Hamas also killed at least 14 Americans in southern Israel.
This seizure of American and Israeli hostages was a victory for Iran, which recently received a $6 billion ransom from the Biden administration for releasing a mere five American hostages. Hamas confirmed that Iran provided the weapons it used in its attack on Israel. “We thank the Islamic Republic of Iran who provided us with weapons, money and other equipment! He gave us missiles to destroy Zionist fortresses, and helped us with standard anti-tank missiles!”
Iran was able to budget money for such weapons because Biden freed up billions of dollars worth of sanctioned oil for Iran. That strengthened Iran’s financial position and enabled it to use its other reserves to pay for terrorism and aggression.
Biden’s $6 billion ransom payment to Iran gives Iran $1.2 billion for each hostage released. As former State Department official Gabriel Noronha points out, “Three years ago,” an Iranian Revolutionary Guard “Commander said they could balance their budget by getting a billion each for American hostages….Biden just gave Iran $1.2 billion each for five.”
The Biden administration has released millions of dollars to Hamas that the Trump administration had withheld.
