Biden’s hyperbole-fest on Tuesday, during which he assailed a Texas voting law as the greatest threat to American democracy since the Civil War, leaves little room for expressions of outrage on the president’s part. If, God forbid, the country is hit by another 9/11, what is Biden going to call it?

His tendency to paint himself into a corner, rhetorically speaking, is not the sign of an intelligent man. Some might argue in his defense that he didn’t write the speech, which can be countered with “Yes, but he did read it, didn’t he?” Which is a separate hornet’s nest.
