The more things change…
In case Democrats assumed they had the situation under control now that Donald Trump has left the building, protesters with Antifa — the domestic terrorist group that Joe Biden called an “an idea, not an organization” — served them a wakeup call yesterday.
While the new president was busy expounding in his inauguration address upon the scourge of white supremacy (translation: support for Donald Trump), a group of protesters clad in black were up to their old tricks, vandalizing property and carrying on like banshees. But this time their target was the Democratic Party headquarters. Oregon station KTVZ reports via the Associated Press that some 150 miscreants “carrying anti-Biden and anti-police signs … smashed windows and spray-painted anarchist symbols … at the political party building.”
Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?
NBC News quotes Portland police as noting that the weapons the mob brandished included Molotov cocktails, knives, batons, chemical spray and a crowbar.
So far the White House has not released a statement on the demonstrations, which also occurred in Seattle. It will be interesting to hear how Biden deals with his first challenge as president, which includes a reaction to the message in the banner shown above.
