Sometimes it’s hard to tell whether Joe Biden has just missed another dose of Haloperidol or whether his propensity for stretching the truth has just kicked in. Whichever the case, on Thursday he asserted that 120 million Americans had died of died of COVID-19.

Watch:

Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?

The current death toll from the virus is actually 126,000 Americans, so Biden was off only by a factor of 10.

This is not the first the former vice president gave an inflated or wrong statistic on COVID deaths. In early May he stated that 600,000 Americans had died of COVID-19. At the time, the virus had claimed some 65,000 lives.

Nor is COVID is the only topic where Biden has fun with numbers. In August 2019, he argued that “no one needs 100 clips in a weapon.” He was right, of course. Not only does no one need a hundred clips; no one can have a hundred clips — or any number other than one or zero — loaded into a firearm at any given time.

OK, let’s cut the old guy some slack. He misspoke. He meant to say rounds. But what was his excuse for declaring at a Democratic debate this past February that that gun violence had killed 150 million Americans — roughly half the U.S. population?

Turning Point USA’s Charlie Kirk tallies up Biden’s figures and comes up with an interesting statistic of his own:

Kirk’s closing question is asked rhetorically, but the answer is a resounding no. As Peter Hasson of the Daily Caller wrote in March, “Joe Biden was thought to be a safe pick when then-Sen. Barack Obama tapped him as his running mate in 2008 because, the thinking went, Biden would be too old to run for president in 2016.”

Correction: Health expert Mark Cuban said on Wednesday that Biden “100% has the stamina” to be president.
